I have a friend and sister in Christ who is in need of your prayers.  I will choose to share few details other than that her relationship with her husband is terribly broken and they are in desperate need for us to stand in the gap with them and pray.  My heart is very heavy for her, her marriage and her children.  Please pray that they experience restoration and peace.  Thanks :)    Faith

Candy donations for Easter

It's that time of year again to plan for the Easter egg hunt at River of Life. We are asking for donations for candy, and some plastic eggs. Candy should be able to fit into the plastic eggs. Donations can be brought to the church and put in the bin in the entryway until March 21st.


If you have any Questions you can contact Cindy Wajnert at 608 635-8519/or 608-332-8519.

Donations will also be distributed throughout the community to the Food Pantry, River Haven, etc., and those children who may not have otherwise received an Easter basket.

Meals for Bill and Julie Harper

Hey church family, I was hoping we could prepare some meals for Bill and Julie. Julie will be having her surgery next week Wednesday (March 3rd). If you can help out please make meals in throw away containers, and only Chicken, Turkey, or Fish...NO BEEF OR PORK PLEASE!!!

Please bring them to church on Sunday March 7th, I will be collecting and delivering them after church.

Also...Please be in prayer for Bill and Julie as they face yet another surgery, and deal w/ emotions to come.

Easter Play Practice--Feb. 28th

Easter Play Practice!!
This Sunday--Just to clarify :)
Hey Parents, We will be practicing downstairs on family Sunday (28th) during the Sermon. Only children in the Easter Play will be dismissed as there is NO CHILDRENS CHURCH (it is family Sunday). So if your kids are not involved please keep them upstairs. Thanx. ALSO-- we will still have practice after church til 1:30-- This is a run through to help us decide what needs more work.--- The time during church is to simply polish some of the parts for those kids who have been missing practice. Empower Conference is quickly coming – March 18-20 – at Green Lake Conference Center, WI.  Please be praying:

 

·        GPS – God's Plan for Sharing is the theme

·        There is a strong emphasis this year for the youth on purity and true love waits.  This could have a huge impact in their lives and could set the course for the rest of their lives.

·        God to anoint and speak through the conference speakers – Ed Stetzer and Sammy Gilbreath and all the program personnel

·        God would give His timely message for us to Roy Fish as he leads us in Bible study

·        God will prepare our hearts to be open to hear His message

·        God would touch our hearts, preparing us to share His message

·        All the preparation details and logistics would come together

Pray for Doug's Dad - Neil

Please be in prayer for Doug Strand's dad - Neil.  He has cancer and the doctors are saying he could pass away sometime soon.  Doug is scared because he is not positive that his Dad is truly a Christian.  

Doug is visiting with him today at 1 pm to share the gospel with him again.  Please be in prayer for Doug's dad to surrender to Christ and be saved.  Pray also for comfort and peace as he comes near the end of his life.

Can you plan the 2010 River Easter Egg hunt?

In the past we have had an Easter Egg hunt at River on Easter morning.  We need help to plan one for 2010!!!  

What we need is 1 person to organize & plan it and at least 3 more people to help out and stuff eggs, & deliver to the food pantry.

In the past the team has collected candy donations at River,  stuffed Easter eggs & hid them for the hunt at River on Easter morning.  We have also taken half of our donations and made Easter 'bags' for the food pantry.  These Easter treats went home w/anyone that came to the food pantry the week before Easter.  Another way we Love our community!

If we don't get any volunteers we will have to cancel the egg hunt for this year and try again next year.

You ARE still able to get the $39 price Feb.22nd-March 1st but will have to order your ticket on your own.

If you choose to attend after march 1st please know that the price goes up quite a bit. And you will have to order your ticket on your own.

If your ordering on your own and you plan on staying in the hotel w/ the group and sharing a hotel room w/ other ladies (4 to a room) please let me know by October 31st so I can add you to a room. Nov. 1st I will be canceling rooms that aren't needed.

Play practice

Family Sunday----Play practice

Our play is progressing REALLY WELL this year. The children are really working hard. Please help us encourage them.

February 28th is our 1st complete run through for the Easter Play. The team thought that it would be a beneficial to have THOSE kids ONLY dismissed for the same time that they would usually be in childrens church on that day. This would allow us to tie up a few loose ends and make our practice go more smoothly, therefore being able to dismiss them promptly at 1:30 that day. Please make every effort to plan for this. Let your childs team leader know if he or she will not be able to attend this day.

Please remember to pray with your children about this mission.

Vacation Bible School

We are ready to start another exciting year of planning Vacation Bible School!  For those of you that don't know we team up w/3 other local churches to plan an awesome VBS for our community.  VBS is always the first week in August so mark your calendars! 

Need help from a few people to get this going for 2010.

Looking for someone to help w/the planning.  This would include going to planning meetings (approx 4 total).  Doing some leg work outside the meeting to help gather props, volunteers and snacks.  (this is split btn the 4 churches so not a ton of work for any one person).  Also would be advertising & promoting the event at River. 

Also, start praying to see if you would be able to volunteer at VBS in 2010.

Come & serve in children's ministry!

There are some areas that we need YOUR help in children's ministry.  Some during children's church and other things that could be done outside of church. 

- Copying coloring pages & worksheets for family Sunday and putting them in ziploc bags (once a month)
- Copying the worksheets and lessons for the Pre-1st curriculum  (can make copies for the month or quarter all at once)
- Copying the worksheets & lessons for the 2nd-6th curriculum
- Posting the verses on the blog each week
- Sign the kids in for children's church (9:30-10:00) Hand out name tags & listen to their verse
- Helper for children's church: be extra hands to grab supplies, help keep kids on track, see who needs help. 
- Listen to the lesson w/the kids once/month and then take a small group to do their workbook page and practice their verse (any grade)


Our plan is to not have family Sundays, hopefully we will be able to start this with the pre-school thru 1st grade group soon.  The faster we get more volunteers and helpers the sooner this will be possible.  With 4 more helpers & 2 more to help w/ workbook pages in the Pre-1st group we could start training and be on our way to phasing out Family Sunday.

Please be praying for volunteers so we can get the 3 -6 year olds in a class.  Although great to learn to sit in church it is becoming difficult for parents to concentrate w/their preschoolers needing to be tended to.

One Heart Womens seminar
