Columbia County Fair

Loving Our Community..

The Columbia County Fair is on July 22 - 26.  River of Life will be sponsoring a booth.  We need River people to work the booth to show our love to our community.  Face painting, ballon animals, music, fellowship and much more make this experience a blast.  Please sign up a shift or two on the sign up sheet in the next couple of weeks to help out!  Talk to Paul or Kelly if questions.

Prayer Request

Please keep our family in your prayers-we have a lot of health issues throughout our family right now and would appreciate your prayers that all will have full recoveries and that there will be much support available to help those as they are healing. Please pray specifically for my grandmother Aloma, who will have back surgery on Friday, May 29th. We would also like to ask that you pray that Bob Dreifke will be able to have his by-pass surgery sooner than later (it has not yet been scheduled)and that God will protect his heart in the meantime. As always, your prayers are much appreciated! God Bless you all.

Karrie

Charles Spurgeon Quote

Tonight's Ephesians study was really good.  I'm sorry that we had to end it so quickly as time got by so quickly.  At the end I said I wanted to share a quote from Charles Spurgeon with you.

Here is that quote:

“the whole world has gone after him”

- Did all the world go after Christ?

“then went all Judea, and were baptized of him in Jordan.”

- Was all Judea, or all Jerusalem, baptized in Jordan?

“Ye are of God, little children”, and the whole world lieth in the wicked one”.

- Does the whole world there mean everybody?

The words “world” and “all” are used in some seven or eight senses in Scripture, and it is very rarely the “all” means all persons, taken individually. The words are generally used to signify that Christ has redeemed some of all sorts — some Jews, some Gentiles, some rich, some poor, and has not restricted His redemption to either Jew or Gentile …

—C.H. Spurgeon from a sermon on Particular Redemption

Reaching the Wisconsin Dells for Christ!

This summer, we have a great opportunity to be on mission with God!  We don't need to go to another country or travel great distances...it's 15 minutes down the road!

The Wisconsin Dells!

Right now, there are 82 others from around the country that will be joining us July 19-24th to minister to the people of the Dells.  Our mission field?

80,000 tourists a day
20,000 plus workers, 3800 of them are international students representing 20 different countries and about 1000 Hispanic workers that work in the Dells year-round
2300 members of the HoChunk nation
4100 residents that call the Dells home!

We need to respond and get on board too!  To help support this event and the many ministries that will be offered, we're asking local volunteers to pay $25/person ($20 for each additional family member...family cap is $85).  This Sunday, there will be volunteer packets w/registration forms at the FamilyFEST table.  To get volunteers placed and t-shirts ordered, we need our local volunteers to register by May 31st!!

If you have any questions, please stop by the FamilyFEST table this Sunday at church!  You can also visit www.DellsChurch.com.

Prayer Request for My Friend

I would appreciate prayers for my friend Shelley and her family. She found her 23 year old son dead in his apartment this past Sunday. There are no answers at this point-nothing in the autopsy to explain what happened. She was there alone to pick him up for their grandma’s 90th birthday party when she found him. She is a strong Christian and knows this is all in God’s hands. She is incredibly strong at this point and mostly thinking of others. I learned she has also lost a baby many years back-so this is her 2nd child that she has lost. Please pray for peace in their family and strength as they prepare for the very difficult funeral services this weekend. Please pray for Shelley that she is able to find rest and for God to comfort her when there are no answers. Thank you!

Karrie

Continued Prayer for Bob Dreifke

Marlene, Bob and I would all like to say thank you for all your prayers thus far for Bob's health regarding his heart. We would like to ask that you continue to pray. He did find out today that he will need bypass surgery-likely in the next week or so. It's not as urgent as some as they are sending him home today so that part is good. A minor setback and we know God is with him giving him the benefit of this precautionary surgery vs. an actual heart attack. God is good! Please keep Bob in your prayers that all goes smoothly and he heals quickly when he does have the surgery. Thank you!
