We are ready to start another exciting year of planning Vacation Bible School! For those of you that don't know we team up w/3 other local churches to plan an awesome VBS for our community. VBS is always the first week in August so mark your calendars!
Need help from a few people to get this going for 2010.
Looking for someone to help w/the planning. This would include going to planning meetings (approx 4 total). Doing some leg work outside the meeting to help gather props, volunteers and snacks. (this is split btn the 4 churches so not a ton of work for any one person). Also would be advertising & promoting the event at River.
Also, start praying to see if you would be able to volunteer at VBS in 2010.

Come & serve in children's ministry!
There are some areas that we need YOUR help in children's ministry. Some during children's church and other things that could be done outside of church.
- Copying coloring pages & worksheets for family Sunday and putting them in ziploc bags (once a month)
- Copying the worksheets and lessons for the Pre-1st curriculum (can make copies for the month or quarter all at once)
- Copying the worksheets & lessons for the 2nd-6th curriculum
- Posting the verses on the blog each week
- Sign the kids in for children's church (9:30-10:00) Hand out name tags & listen to their verse
- Helper for children's church: be extra hands to grab supplies, help keep kids on track, see who needs help.
- Listen to the lesson w/the kids once/month and then take a small group to do their workbook page and practice their verse (any grade)
Our plan is to not have family Sundays, hopefully we will be able to start this with the pre-school thru 1st grade group soon. The faster we get more volunteers and helpers the sooner this will be possible. With 4 more helpers & 2 more to help w/ workbook pages in the Pre-1st group we could start training and be on our way to phasing out Family Sunday.
Please be praying for volunteers so we can get the 3 -6 year olds in a class. Although great to learn to sit in church it is becoming difficult for parents to concentrate w/their preschoolers needing to be tended to.

Here are the verses the River Navigaters are practicing this week. Please encourage them to practice. The 2nd-6th graders verse is quite long this week and may need some extra practice, possibly help them put it to motions.

One Heart Womens seminar
Hey ladies, come enjoy a day of great fellowship,music and speakers at the One Heart seminar. On February 27th at the Wintergreen resort in the Wisconsin Dells.
